JANUARY
To celebrate the coldest month in Eastern Europe we thought we'd fly to Latvia to enjoy the January sunshine. The house we were staying in didn't look up to much on arrival.

But the interior turned out to be a little more accommodating.

"I SAID STAY STILL
MOTHERFUCKER.
EAT LEAD
... BANG BANG BANG...."
On our second day we headed off to a barren area on the outskirts of town. We reached a shabby looking white shed where we took some stairs to the basement to be greeted with an overwhelming smell of mildew and gunpowder. Once you reach the giant metal doors of the shooting complex, you’ll realise that this is no ordinary basement. This is in fact a decaying Soviet bunker and fallout shelter with hidden rooms and tunnels.

The shooting gallery offers a huge array of guns. We spent the morning firing off rounds with a 10mm Automatic Glock 20 handgun which ranks with the most powerful pistols ever made. This wasn't good enough for Tim, who felt the need for a session with a moose-blasting AK47.

Tim plans his first bank robbery with his friend "Widow maker" Dave from Liverpool.

And this is how well Tim did with the stressful hostage situation - the lucky lady only suffered one shot in the shoulder - well done Tim.

We then joined our local friend "Kangaroo Aaahh" for a five hour tequila session. Edward was a little worse for wear after the seventh shot. I don't remember much but apparently left at some point. Luckily the boys found me later that night.

We spent the next few days exploring the city, admiring the local flora and fauna as we travelled.

After a restful break, we arrived at Riga airport to fly to Estonia. We were slightly concerned when we saw the miniscule 1957 Fokker 50 that was to transport us there. The picture below shows Tim texting his parents a farewell message and me about to hurl.
