Wednesday
JULY |
A fishy Norwegian adventure. Things
started very early and rather slowly...
But with the help of the sonar
fish finder we soon tracked them down, with Lee
landing a dogfish that put up a huge fight.

Naturally, we followed the ancient
Norwegian tradition of slapping Alex, the youngest
member of the crew, with the first catch of the
day.

And soon we were weighed down
with some hefty pollocks.

Edward, having a splendid time.

Approaching a small fishing village
on the Lofoten Islands off the coast of Norway.

With moods as up and down as a
bride's nightie, Edward didn't seem too happy
with this whopper he landed.
In fact it seemed not a lot could
impress Edward apart from his can of lager.

We hit the inevitable thunderstorms
and massive downpours - this one about 20 miles
off the coast of Kristianstad. But the more hardy
risked being struck by lightning and ploughed
on with the mackerel gathering.

Check out that whopper.

And to end the day, Lee followed
the other Norwegian tradition of keeping the fish
guts and discarding all the fish.

Colin's pooch seemed happy to
welcome the new member of the family.
