Current Special Exhibiton Come along and learn all about the art of dry stone walling. Dating back to the 14th century, this traditional English craft is still going strong. Resident speaker Wendy Banucheck has put together an excellent history of the craft, exploring all aspects of how dry stone walling developed. Often the pastime of solitary individuals, dry stone walling is an excellent hobby that allows you to express your creativity and create walls of real beauty to be enjoyed by anyone who passes by. Wendy will teach you, stone by stone, how to create your own dry stone wall - with your new wall you could be the envy of your neighbours. |

Famous Battle Re-enactments Come along to one of our Famous Battle Re-enactments. We authentically recreate the battles by following a pre-arranged script so you can really get a feel for what it would have been like to be there. Everyone is encouraged to get into the action, from soldiers to battalion commanders. Although no one has ever been injured during a Re-enactment, we do ask that children and members of the press are not invited. |

Children's Fun Afternoons Every second Saturday we play host to Children's Fun Afternoons - they are the talk of the town with local children. If you're a child, you can be King Arthur, Robin Hood or Dick Turpin for the afternoon - although we don't want you stealing valuables or shouting "Stand and Deliver" to our museum staff! We promise a real afternoon of fun and guarantee your children will want to come back again and again. |
