| The
PTSD Treatment team is made up of psychotherapist Edward
Sim and consultant psychiatrist Dr. Mike Bott. We have
been treating accident casualties with psychological
symptoms since 2001.
As well as treating people suffering
from post traumatic stress disorder, we also look after
those suffering from phobias, complicated grief, panic
attacks, stress and psychological problems resulting
from sexual or physical abuse.
Edward is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist,
accredited by the Association of Rational Emotive Behaviour
and on the BABCP/AREBT register cbtregisteruk.com. He
is accredited to practice EMDR by EMDRA UK and Eire.
He trained in the United States with
Dr Aaron Beck and Dr Albert Ellis, founders of Cognitive
Therapy and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, and
Dr Francine Shapiro, the creator of Eye Movement Desensitising
and Reprocessing.
Mike is a Consultant Psychiatrist with
many years experience assessing and treating a wide
range of patients, particularly those who have suffered
symptoms following accidents. He has developed a number
of screening methodologies which form part of the assessment
programme. Mike also specialises in helping patients
with work related stress or who are suffering from bullying.
In 2005 we co-ordinated 7/7
Trauma, a not-for-profit organisation
comprised of more than 70 mental health specialists,
that provided psychological assistance to victims of
the London bombings.
We have clinics in Brighton, Uckfield
in East Sussex and Sevenoaks, Kent. When people are
unable to leave their homes, we can organise for a home
visit.
